Overview
The Policy-Oriented Research in Islamic Economics and Finance Conference (PRIME 2023), organised by the Indonesian Association of Islamic Economists (IAEI) in partnership with the Centre for Islamic Economics and Business Universitas Indonesia (PEBS UI), cordially invites academics, practitioners, and policy decision-makers, to present their policy-oriented research findings. The conference offers a unique series of events to bridge the gap between academic research and policy-decision making.
The 2023 PRIME Conference is part of the Road to Muktamar V IAEI 2023 and focuses on uncovering policy-oriented studies for the post-pandemic covid-19 recovery process, especially in Indonesia. This year’s conference thus raises the theme of “On the Development of Islamic Economic Policies for a More Sustainable Post-Pandemic Recovery.”
The conference will take place on 17 – 18 July 2023 at Universitas Indonesia, Indonesia.

Minister of Finance/ Chairman of The Indonesian Association of Islamic Economists (IAEI), Indonesia
This specialist in public finance research, fiscal policy, and labor economics was elected as Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) representing 12 countries in Southeast Asia (South East Asia/SEA Group) since November 1, 2002. Then on June 1, 2010 he became the Managing Director of the World Bank. In social organizations, she also Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum on ASEAN and sits on the Board of UNICEF's Generation Unlimited Initiative. In August 2019, he was elected as Chairman of the Indonesian Islamic Economist Association for the period 2019-2023.

First Winner of The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Prize for Impactful Achievement in Islamic Economics 2022
The Sharjah Chair in Islamic Law and Finance at Durham University, Durham, U.K., was selected for the first prize in recognition of his pioneering and innovative work in Islamic economics and finance that pushed forward knowledge and influenced policymaking for the use of Islamic finance in socio-economic development.
